65 mustang coupe modifications

Hello people. I'm new to this forum. Quick question, I have a 65 mustang coupe im redoing. Putting a 302 into her, rebuilt trans, etc. I want to possibly go with a restomod look. The question is, does anyone know if there's still a company out there that still sells the aftermarket retractable hardtop kit? Want to get rid of the hard top. Also considering a Ronster Kit (sold by Mustangsplus.com). You remove the roof and replace it with a fiberglass top that turns vehicle into a radical looking 2 seater. Has anyone had any experiences with this? Thanks a million. Olstang

Re: 65 mustang coupe modifications

I don't know of anyone personally who has done this. Be sure to strengthen the undercarrage, as the top is very important to the car's body, it's removal has to be compensated for. I dont know if the kit does that or not.

Re: 65 mustang coupe modifications

I know there is a hardtop convertable top out there for early mustangs, I can't remember where I found it or what years it was for, but I'll try to track it down.
Edit: Mustangs Unlimited lists it in their magazine. It isn't on their website(www.mustangsunlimited.com). They don't mention a brand either. It says 'coming in 2003' but I'm sure I got this magazine after 2003.
They list them for $3300 for 64-66. They also say '100 hours install time'. Not a project for beginners...
