Missfire

Rather odd question. After talking with CRJ a little I think I found out my misfire. Acutally monday night my alternator went out completely and I had it rebuilt put anew belt on and then cleaned up my battery post but didn't connect my circle loop for my lights( blakc lights and underglow) and everything seemed fine. Yesterday i was waiting for a class to start so i decided to connect them back up so i took off the positive post and put the circle loop on there and then reconnected it and started it up. I was resetting all my stations adn making sure hte lights worked and when i looked up then damn check engine light and track off light was on. SO i turned it off plugged the computer in and it said first cylinder missfire. I cleared it and started it bakc up and let it sit for a while and nothing more popped up. So i disconnected the wire anyway and said the hell with it for now. Could that cause a missfire. I was thinking about getting a differnt battery one where i didn't haev to go through the battery posts to turn on the lights. Sound like a good idea.

BTW i have replace the coil packs plugs wires already so i rulled that out and the alternator is now rebuilt yay and the battery is like 2 years old. the belt is brand new and the head is 35,000 mile sold or so just liek the timmign chain and water pump but the block now has 162,000 and it is a 2000 with a 2.2

You should disconnect neg terminal not pos you may have sent a surge through your PCM!

I didn't mean with it running. You should al;ways disconect the blck neg terminal first! If you disconect the battery and not remove it then only this one. If yopu follow the wire it will go to a point on the body to ground it! So if you are using a wrench to undo the red pos terminal and that wrench touches anythin mteal it's ground and short everything and p[ossible f*ck your PCM at could also arc weld itslef to whatever it touches!!!!
