Question Plugs and wires????

I'm about to go and do spark plugs and wires on my car. Its a 1986 Delta 88 Royal. I have a few questions however. First off, when looking from the front of the car, the cylinder order is as follows:

Front - left to right - 1,3,5
rear - left to right - 2,4,6
Correct?

Also, it doesn't seem logical and on the old wires (ones on the car when i bought it) they don't seem to be going to the right place or are mixed up. On the coil pack, is it the same on there? Front left goes to cylinder 1 etc.?

PLEASE HELP. I searched google and this and found nothing.

Re: Plugs and wires????

Looking at your coil packs top to bottom your wires are 6,3,2,5,4,1 or (top6&3,middle2&5,bottom,4&1)
I would only use Delco parts when replacing,Good Luck

I can not stress how important that is. Same goes with the O2 sensor, do NOT get a bosch.

I assume you have the magnavox coil back (flat coils)???

Unhappy

Yeah my buddy had a book for my car (he has the same car). I got it done though. Thanks for the replys.

The book said that my coil pack was setup for "type 1"

6 2 4
3 5 1 <----is what it looks like if you are looking at it from the front of the car.

I did buy bosch!!! What a disaster. I guess their on!!! They are the worst plugs i could have ever bought. Wish i would of got this reply before i started. They don't even want to stay on the coils!!!! They work for now, and the car is running good, but they will need to be swapped out in a few days when i figure out a better brand to buy. I don't feel it is safe with bosch wires on it.

Anyone reccomend a good spark plug wire brand?

Thanks again for all the help.

Re: Plugs and wires????

Gm engines run best with AC-DELCO wires and plugs, they cost more but they perform best. The wires have a lifetime Guarranty.
