Exclamation Help, which suspension?

I'm looking to spend around $1200 on wheels and shocks and I've been going a lot of research. I've been told koni yellows and others are great shocks and I think motegi 16"x7" wheels are going to do the trick for me. I have 17's and decided it was too much trouble to raise up my already lowered 2" civic dx to put wheels on, (around 250 to install new springs and wheel alignment.) I was wondering which wheels would be best for under $500 dollars and springs for about that too. I found the 16" motegi's for $320 on ebay. I'm thinking about yokohama parada specs tires as well. Just let me know what you think guru's.

Re: Help, which suspension?

I hate Motegi rims. IMO they are tacky and they weigh an ass load too. I don't like the Yoko Paradas either. I've driven a few cars with those tires and they didn't perform like I thought they would and they really suck in the rain. If you want good wheels and tires you're going to have to plan on spending about $1000 on just that.

And you aren't going to get really good shocks for $200. I believe the KYB AGX shocks are around $100-125 a piece, probably the cheapest set of good shocks you'll find.

Oh no, the $250 is for installation at a shop, Im well going to spend $500-$600 on shocks and I said I was willing to do about the same for wheels, so 1200 overall.

Re: Help, which suspension?

Oh I know. I was saying, if you spend about a $1000 on wheels and tires that's only $200 left for shocks which you aren't going to get good ones.

Look into Rotas, they are lightweight, look good, hold up pretty well, and are CHEAP. If you want to go with Yoko tires I really recommend the AVS ES100 tires, they're great.

As for shocks, I recommend KYB AGX or Koni Yellows, whichever one fits your budget best. The Koni's are better IMO, but for the price you can't beat the KYB AGXs.

Yeah, ok I'm definately going with koni yellows then... but does rota make white wheels? I highly want white wheels or light alloy colored. I saw some rota wheels, but I dont want black wheels on my black car. Oh yeah, I am also a big proponent of ebay.

i have cooper directionals on my si's, it feels like im driving on dry pavement in any rain. and im in seattle so we get our share. as solee would know.

and this is with quite a lot of wear on the inside from the dumbass that lowered it before i got it. still smooth sailing around anything.

Rota wheels are available in every popular color on the market. It's just finding a place that has the wheel and color that you want which seems kinda difficult lately.
