Ok Everyone Please Read........

I have a plan and this may have been brought up before, but i think we should try and make a how to video for 4gs. It would not be that hard, we just need some one that knows how to edit video and trans it to dvd. I can edit, but my laptop does not let me burn to dvd. I think this would be pretty cool, and i know it would help alot of people out when they don't realy know what your saying in here they can just look at the video. So tell me what you think?

There is enough people on here that no there shit and you may be able to make some money if that was neede. I don't realy think it will be. Blank cd's are not that much money. If not maybe making a mag kinda of thing with real step by step how to's not the shit you see on TV and other mags where they only give you some of what they did. Like when they start the job and all the sudin there you go it's done, you sit there and go what the hell did i just miss.

let me know what you think.

I like the idea, but I'd be surprised if there are enough people willing to dedicate that kind of time when they could just as easy refer someone to a website.

It might be easier to do a series of how-to video discs. I mean, like you said, CD-R's are cheap. It wouldn't even have to be on DVD. You could have a disc (or more than one) about motor upgrades, swaps, etc... And a disc for interior upgrades. Maybe a disc for suspension. You get the idea...

Just my

Re: Ok Everyone Please Read........

I was actually considering doing something like this for an h22a/Civic swap a couple years ago. But it'd be a ton of work to do. You'd have to know a ton about recording video (lighting, angles), it'd be a ton of video editing, making sure you got each shot clearly. I think something like a monthly e-zine would be a good idea, have 1 or 2 full walkthroughs each month.

Re: Ok Everyone Please Read........

NO NO, you guys are thinking to big. I mean you take one swap and walk throught it every step. like ok lets make a cd on B16a swap. you pull the motor tape it, you show how the new wires need to be hooked up and the new mounts and put the new motor in. you don't need a special camera, i did one on doing a 1st gen to 2nd gen mitsu swap and did all the editing on my laptop. i just don't have a DVD burner to put it on so i could slap it in my DVD palyer and watch it.

Could you do it in .mpg, .avi, or xvid (I know there's a dozen more) type format? Would it be too big for a data CD-R? If you could do it in a common format that you could watch it with Windows Media Player, or DivX player (or whatever), and put it on a CD-R, I think it would be just as good as a dvd...

Yea the file may be potentially to big. If you had the equipment you could cut out the audio track and modify it as an mp3 to play seperatly each time. Mp3's are incredibly small and yield great quality as compared to a .wav file...

Re: Ok Everyone Please Read........

I have made a full lenth music video, with special effects and all for a local hip hop artist that aired(sp)on vh1 I think..and I have a DVD copy of it. I can do all the camera work, edit, and burning to dvd.

The only bad thing is, I want to be the camera man also.
