how to clear engine codes

My 2000 dakota had the check engine light on, I done the code and it came up P0138, looked it up and it was the 02 sensor circuit high, I replaced both front and back oxygen sensors and the light is still on. Do I need to clear the code, if so how do I do it myself?

Re: how to clear engine codes

The recommended way is to have a scanner go in and clear the code; you can go to any auto part store, like autozone, and they can do that for you free of charge. Or you could even disconnect the battery, although, the code will still be in memory, it'll go from being a hard code to a soft code and set off the light.
