just for informational purposes

as all of u probly know i have full length headers on my 86, and i couldnt find exhaust well a speed shop actually set me up with a y pipe made exclusivly for third gens. my headers were flowtech part # 11100FLT the y pipe is 11100-yFLT or something to that affect. so third gen camaro owners can now rejoice as there is a prefabbed y-pipe for horrible long tube headers. just thought u all might like to hear that incase u had thoughts about not going to long tubes

o and dynomax makes a dual exhaust kit that 2-1/4 for the full length headers. or just regular exhaust. and its only 138$

Re: just for informational purposes

that's pretty cheap for the dynomax. why didn't you do that??? I don't understand why you would want a y-pipe.

Nice seats, by the way.

so ur wondering y i didnt go dual exhaust. cuz i got a coated 3" single with a flowmaster 40 just hanging with a clothes hanger waiting to be reattached. so i mean 120 for that y-pipe is a good deal rather than redo my whole exhaust. WERE NOT ALLL MILLIONARES HERE. haha j/k

Re: just for informational purposes

maybe I'm not understanding correctly. from what I hear, you could have paid dynomax $138 for a dual kit, $80 for a second muffler, and about $40 bucks for somebody to weld it on, but you instead spent $120 on a y-pipe that helps restrict airflow on your newly built engine? Am I understanding this right?

......yes. my sister is buying it for me cuz im horribly i debt cuz of a well lil ol 81 trans am in my cellar. but i promise ill go back and redo it. i know the y-pipe is horrible, with its ugly t junction buuut shell still be a street sweeper and loud to boot. maybe later this year ill get shorty headers with a nice flowing exhaust.

Re: just for informational purposes

yea... i guess you could sell the y-pipe later. I know what you mean, I just took out another student loan so that I can finish my car. why do you want shorties? Just curious, cause I gotta get some headers too. I was planning on doing shorties.

shorties with a good y-pipe and 3" exhaust will flow alot more than my setup, but if i do mine right(which is wicked hard) i can flow more. but something about going over speedbumps more than 2" off the ground is appetizing. but maybe not
