Re: seen a guy on ebay selling twister
There a scam, there is no real proff they do any thing beside's make the seller rich.
If they really did work like they say, all car's would come from the factory with them allready installed. |

Re: seen a guy on ebay selling twister
I've actually used these things in two previous cars. The product I bought was call Tornado and I picked them up at a flea market for about $15 each.
One was in a 2001 Dodge RAM 5.9 - 8 MPG improvement (from 14 to 22) according to the mileage computer and a noticeable increase in performance. The other I dropped in a 1995 Mercury Tracer 1.9L (which I still have) and I saw no benefit whatsoever. I've seen these on E-Bay for anywhere from $60-$100 and I personally wouldn't pay that much. If you find one somewhere for cheap, it might be worth a try for a larger engine. |

Re: seen a guy on ebay selling twister
Since I work nights, I see the infomercials for these all the time. I don't necessarily agree that if they worked, cars would have them from the factory, but the concept they claim is correct with the vortex 'tornado' action. I would agree with sdsiedentop that if you find them for cheap, it's worth a try.

Re: seen a guy on ebay selling twister
If you are looking for a cheap way to gain both performance, and fuel economy look into these 2 sites and decide for yourself.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=385048 http://www.timebomb2000.com/vb/showthread.php?t=143848 I tried their sugestion on my S-10 Blazer, with a freshly rebuilt motor, and a full new fuel system and noticed a big gain in economy, although I didn't notice any more power. I haven't taken my mileage yet and it wouldn't be accurate since I'm off roading just about daily. Although a tank has lasted me a week |

Re: seen a guy on ebay selling twister
I read the posts on Timebomb. Very interesting. I am just curious why no one has posted on it since the end of April? I would love to see some results.
I think I am going to give this a try. If anyone is interested, I will fill up this weekend, and give a report on what I find. |

The "vortex" is canceld out when the air passes by the throttle body plate. So the only time there is a true vortex is from where it's installed to the throttle body. So just the intake tube benifits, not the intake manifold or cylender. |

Re: seen a guy on ebay selling twister
I have one and it worked about 8 more mpg. It worked even better when I put on my cold air intake.
And some car maufactures are using these. They are of a different design, most cars like the new subarus have a cone filter that does the same. Many after market intakes use an air funnel with the same idea. And the throttle body whould not cancel out the vortex it would just split the air strem. The air going throught your intake travels a lot faster then they show in the pictures. |

Re: seen a guy on ebay selling twister
Lets face it the car companies work hand in hand with the gas companies. And the gas companies are the greadiest companies out there, ripping us all of as much as possible.
If you don't believe that read these 3 articles http://www.mcaac.mb.ca/sajun01.html#Pogue http://freeenergynews.com/Directory/...ease031117.htm http://www.handpen.com/meg/free.htm |
