99 cavalier 2.4l fuel problem

99 Cavalier Z24 w/2.4l starts up and runs fine, but after shutting it off and leaving it for between 1 and 2 hours, won't start. I crawled under the car to listen for fuel pump to prime, but there is no sound. How do I check if it is a) fuel filter, b fuel regulator, or c) the fuel pump itself?

Just replace the filter it cheap enough and is part of maintenance. It's to the left of the tank on the inside of the frame rail. The pump you can have tested at autozone and is probably the problem if you can't hear it! You shoudl hear it from the driver seat if you turn the ignit to on and not yet to start. Ig you can't hear it then it's faulty.
