2002 Rodeo Sport Oxygen sensor bank locations?
Error code p0155 = O2 sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1. I think that bank 2 is the passenger side and sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter. Does anyone know if this is right?
Where is Bank 2 and Sensor 1? |

Actually, Bank 1 is the passenger side, Bank 2 is the driver's side. For an automatic transmission, Sensor 1 is the pre-cat sensor and Sensor 2 is after-cat. For a 5-speed, Bank 1 Sensor 1 is driver's side before the "Y", Bank 2 Sensor 1 is passenger's side before the "Y". Bank 1 Sensor 2 is between the "Y" and the cat and Bank 1 Sensor 3 is after the cat.

Re: 2002 Rodeo Sport Oxygen sensor bank locations?
Thanks. Unfortunaletly I replaced the wrong one, and it was a bitch to get at! Will the light go out automatically? Mine didn't, but I replaced the wrong one, too.
Oh yah, I have a 6 cyl, auto 4x4. Thanks again, back under the truck I go. |

The CEL won't go off as soon as you replace the faulty sensor but it will clear after a certain number of "cycles" with the faulty condition cleared. You can pull the 15A ECM fuse, in the engine compartment fuse/relay box, for about 30 seconds or so to clear the ECM memory if you don't want to wait.

jarrett- Now that's spooky!!
I've got the same exact code on my 2002 LS 4x4. I even swapped that O2 sensor with the after-cat sensor just to *make sure* it was the sensor & not the connector/wiring/etc... The code follows the sensor, so atlease I know. The OEM's are denso, but there's no way I'm going to get another denso If they die so soon. St.Charles quoted me something like $120/ea. My local dealer wants $169!! www.oxygensensors.com has (the 2002 3.2L) sensors for $109, 'walker' brand. You didn't happen to find a better deal did you? I've yet to replace mine. The O2 sensor still functions, just the heater coil fried in it. Looks like this is an issue for the 2002+ 3.2L (only) for some reason they went to a funky, hard to get sensor for this model. FWIW- the GM ecotec 2.2L (used in saturns, cavaliers, etc) uses the same pre cat sensor, as does the 1998-1999 GM astro van. Go figure!! They are no cheaper for them either!!!G/luck Joel

Re: 2002 Rodeo Sport Oxygen sensor bank locations?
This thread has been dead for about 3-1/2 years, but I came across it while Googling for information about the O2 sensors; hopefully somebody will be able to help me.
After reading this thread, I now know which sensor is referred to in the P0155 error code. My question is whether all the sensors are the same part number or if there are different numbers for different sensors. If the latter is true, could somebody please provide me with the part number for the Bank 2, Sensor 1? Edited to add: I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo LS, not the Sport. Thank you! Chris |
