Has anybody had experience - horror stories with the AWD?
Also does anybody know when chrysler started putting some of the modifications in their trannys to make them stronger? Somebody told me it was '95 or '96.
Thanks for the help

Hello I have read alot of horror stories on these vans to do with thiere transmissions but that is on all of them whether they are AWD or not( and it ussually starts around 70-80,0000, I am a owner of a 1993 AWD and I havent read alot of problems on the AWD compared to the FWD..but my personal expierience has been a horror with this vav ..when my tranny failed on me the shop also called with even more exciting news it seems that my transfer case housing and rear differential housing were cracked and needed to be replaced also..the shop said they had seen this happen to the transfer case on these b4 ..but never the rear differential..well as I shopped for a used transfer case I did notice alot of junk yards had the internals for the transfer case for sale...but the case itself was cracked..so Its looking as if they are known to crack the transfer case housing ..why I dont know...as we are very easy drivers and dont use it hard..well after that was all fixed the ABS light came on and there were recalls on it but mine had a bad part that wasnt included in the recall (electronic control.unit) and that part is 1100.00 dealer price..I would never buy another one I know that...hope this is some help ..good luck
