Stereo swap question

I want to replace the plain am/fm stereo in my gf's 04 silverado with either an aftermarket unit or preferably another gm unit but need to know which years/models are interchangable. There's a cd/cassette unit from a 02 s10 for a good price on ebay, would that work? If not which years will work?

Thanks!!

And if this helps any, the stereo has a single 24pin plug in the back of it.

Re: Stereo swap question

If your swapping decks from the same year model, they should work without a problem. You can't however, swap an 04 deck with one from 99-02. They won't fit.

That's what I feared and found out once I pulled hers and saw the plug in back was different from the 02 unit from ebay was. Too bad because it was a cd/cassette for 110 bucks.
