1996 vs 2000 MAF Sensor?

Anybody have any idea if a 1996 MAF sensor will work for a 2000 3.8 liter? I bought one (supposedly works) on Ebay for $5.00. I dont need it (yet), but the price seemed way too good. If not, I only lose $5.00.

If the part numbers are not EXACTLY the same, it very well may not work. Ford MAF sensors are VERY sensitive and carefully designed sensors, using the wrong one will cause you problems.

Why do you have a "spare", they are not known to give trouble, and if they do, 99% of the time a simple cleaning is all they need.

The MAF sensor was packaged with the IAT (intake air temp) ... I think in '99...before that they were two separate sensors.
