z24 race

i'm bored so i thought i'd post this. saturday i was getting on the highway when i seen a newer z24 cavalier with altezzas,we stoped at a light and he had a car in front of him, the car turned when the light turned green and i let him get next to me i down shifted to first at like 20ish then he just punched it, i hit it and started to pull on him i got like 1/2 a length on him till about 45 he started pulling up a lil bit till around 70 then he just kinda stayed at my rear bumper. we let off at like 95 i got next to him and he gave me a thumbs up then i had to exit. if anybody has any stories post em i'm bored.

Yea... because a man's personality and demeanor is defined by what type of transmission they have...

Re: z24 race

good point, but still.... i cant think of too many people who would hook up a car and leave it an auto unless they had a ton of power

Re: z24 race

They have the same motor. I raced a 00-02 Z24 in Toronto. I have him the hole time until a light went red. I stopped as there was no way I'd even cross the line before red and he went straight through! Dick. Stupid thing is I passed him again as he stopped at the next set of lights and just after I passed him he decided last minute to turn right. Done him basically! In canada we still have ne Z24 although they have Ecotecs and no difference except bodykit and wheels over the other models for $3000 CDN! You'd take one of those! ALthough they don't exist past 02 in the states.

Last summer I wiped a 98'Z24 Auto with my 96 2.2 stick.
The guy was a bit pissed off
I also beat a camry 04 taxi, my friend regal 92, a 96 intreprid and many many civics
Hell the only time someone got in front of me was when 2 mustangs got me at a red light

i have a 98 rs with a 2.2, 5-speed, its all stock except cold air intake, and my girlfriends 99 cougar (v6) can smoke the piss out of me HOWEVER i can smoke the piss out of my other car, an 86 plymouth reliant, oh yeah also, one day i was at a red light (typical story starter) next to a grand am im not sure what year but my neighbor has a 96 and it looked just like hers, anyways it had the v6 logo on the side kinda up near the front, and i beat it too, it kept up with me a little better then the 86

Re: z24 race

There is benefits to both transmissions... I'm not going to start cat fight in here over it. And pimpin we all know your lieing on that one about beating eclipes and celica's... I've been owned at the track with my girls 96 2.2 manual.. stock vs. stock.. yea.. your full of shit. The 5-7 hp diffence between trannys isn't going to make you that good... I have even put my auto against my gurls manual with no mods and she was almost able to keep up with mine, but i had 1.5 lenghts on her at the end. Right now it runs 16.99 @ 77.8MPH. Her time on that run was [email protected]. Before i had anything done to the car she was pulling on me. Yes i will admit to street racing but seeing someone almost die doing it, i have not sence done it. Lost traction on a highway and hit somthing put him into a spin and went into the grass median where his car rolled over 3 times and landed on his roof. I did no know him, but passed me doing more than a buck following a eclipse. From the news report he was paralized from the waist down... I know your all smarter than this, be safe if your going to mess around since you will probably disregard this.

I'm afraid I'm guilty of street racing too.

This teggy. (92 Integra I guess?) looking like a POS (primer grey front fenders, but he had projector headlights and altezza taillights, I'm guessing he's gonna paint it soon..) screamed past me. I've got a 01 z-24 Stick with a few aftermarket parts on it.

I floored it and ended up catching him, waved and we slowed down at the same time and went our separate ways. Don't know what the teggy had, if it was stock or not. or tranny wise. but I'm just happy I caught him.

if it comforts you any. I go to the track here in town all the time. Street racing isn't my thing... I don't want tickets....

hmmm km... I'm in MPH let's see.... rough guess 100km = 62 mph? so..... 120.. would be roughly 73 or so? bleh bad math... yeah I break off at 70, regardless of who's winning. If I wanna go faster the local circle and drag strip are open to the public on weekends (when events aren't being held at least) and I can have all the fun I want.

Personally haven't had any friends that have gotten hurt from it but I try my best to keep the stupid shit down to a minimum... >.> Besides. My girlfriend hates going fast >.> she'd kill me.

(whipped and proud of it >.>)
