So this is the deal....
My 1996 Blazer Heater fan works only when it feels like it. I will start up the Blazer and sometime it will work and sometimes not. If the heater is blowing air when it starts, I will continue to get heat as long as the Blazer is on. If the heat is not working, then I have to drive very fast and aim for pot holes (quite a number in my area) then the jarring motion seems to make the heat work. Once I get the heat working by using this technique, it will continue to work until I shut off the Blazer. Then it is a guess if the heat will come back on. If I am lucky, it will else it will not. Clarifiaction: When I write the heat is not working, a little bit of heat is dribbling out, but there is no fan pushing the air. Thank you everyone!!! |

Re: Heater fan motor
It sounds like the motor has a dead spot in the comuntator. A new motor is usualy around $50 and you will probably have to reuse the plastic fan off the current motor.

Front ends are VERY expensive to replace on your truck.
