Any Shop Owners Willing To Help A Scammed Guy?

Are there any shop owners out there that would care to provide me with a rough estimate on some labor? Summary of situation: Work was started by another individual who no longer wishes to complete the job after he was paid. Blown motor was removed, machined and rebuilt, but only partially reinstalled. Motor and transmission are in the car, but bolts are not torqued down or missing from mounts, and various lines (clutch and fuel) and wires are not hooked up. Need estimate on labor charge to complete engine installation so that I may file claim against the individual in small claims court.

Car: 1998 Honda Civic EX
Engine: 1994 B18C
Tranny: 1998 ITR

Work To Be Performed:
1. Passenger side axle install
2. Driver side axle is not fully seated
3. Clutch line reconnected
4. Clutch release mechanism checked for completeness
5. Fuel lines connected and Fuel Management Unit installed
6. Engine mount bolts installed / torqued down
7. Exhaust reconnected
8. Valves Adjusted
9. Wiring harness needs to be checked over for correctness (I plugged everything I could back in myself)

I can provide more information as needed, and I can provide pictures to show exactly what needs to be done.

I need this information as soon as possible so I can start my suit. Thanks!

Thanks for being an asshole... Appreciate it...

Just because I'm from NY doesn't mean that my car is a rust bucket... Some of us yankees know how to maintain their cars and keep them clean... And some of us even have garages to keep our cars in during the winter so they're not exposed to that nasty road salt you may have heard of...

I guess I just can't compete with a del Slow with exhaust tips and indiglow gauges...

THIS IS BESIDES THE FACT that cars built for and shipped to the Northeast are made with a special undercoating that deters that sort of wear... so as long as you aren't going home and parking your car in a creek every night, rust usually isn't a huge issue - especially on a car that isn't even 10

Anyway b18 - i'm gonna try to get you a labor quote for your claim - but let me know if you're still stuck on this in a month or so - i might be able to help you out

Re: Any Shop Owners Willing To Help A Scammed Guy?

My "Del Slow" Would walk all over you, and i wasn't trying to be an asshole. Its funny how you only picked out the nonperformance mods to my car. NM the rest of the list. My family is from Jamestown, NY and every car they have ever owned (daily driven) has tons of rust problems. It isn't your fault, its a fact of life in the north. That "special Undercoating" may slow the process, but it can't stop it. The only cure is like you said. Keep that baby locked up in the winter and don't let her see day until summer.
