1996 300zx ECU

Hello all. I'm just getting back into this forum thing to help with some tech research on my 96 300zx NA 5 speed. (Cobalt Green on tan leather, 42,000 miles!) I want to do an ECU upgrade on the car, but nobody currently makes a program for the 96 model. Stillen offers an upgrade for the 96 turbo 5 speed (which is probably sourced from Jim Wolfe), but alas, nothing is offered for the NA. I have access to a totaled 93 NA, and I naturally began to wonder if I could take the ECU out of that car and switch it out with mine. This would require alot of wire splicing, and I'm not sure if the basic wire loom is the same or not. Anyone here have any idea? I'm reluctant to take any chances, as I don't want to be responsible for taking one of the few 96 models down and out for the count. God only knows what kind of problems I could run into if they didn't match up. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 1996 300zx ECU

They don't make one for your '96 NA? That sucks... news to me too becuse I didn't realize they didn't make 'em for that application!

Thanks for the info. I sent an email to the Ash guy, and he said that he didn't have anything for a 96 either. He might, however, have something worked out by the end of this coming Summer. Just wait and see. In the mean time, I'll take a look at the ECU harness and compare the individuals wires. If anything looks different, I'll probably just leave well enough alone. At least I can still get headers, which will probably make a bigger overall difference anyway. Thanks again.
