Fuel Consumption in Civic RTi

Hi there,

I need a solution for this really fast before my bank runs dry!

I bought a Civic Ferio RTi. It's a EK 5, 1999 Manufacture. Engine capacity 1600cc. The thing is its a 4WD.

Teh bad part is the fuel consumption. My observations are telling me that the fuel consumption is around 6 KM's a litre (that's around 16.67 litres for 100 km's). Now that's really really bad.

Can someone tell me whether this is normal (if so, i need to get rid of it) or ways to improve the fuel consumption (i mean to decrease it). Please I need this advice fast.

Yep. It's not a very common model. But it's there. It's similar to EK3.

I'm so sick of the Honda screwing over the US. The rest of the world gets stuff like the fit, civic type r, accord euro r, rsx typr r, 4wd civics, 4wd integras, and all those other different model cars; and N. America get's shafted. Even Canada got a Civic under the SiR badge.

But when was the last time you did complete maintnance and a tune-up? Something like a dirty air filter. Also any performance modifications done to the motor?

Well teh last maintenance was done around 2500 kms ao. One is due pretty soon.

the air filter element is ok. got them cleaned.

Nope there are no mods done on the car. It's a stock car.
