new car looking for advice

well my civic has died and i have found a replacment for it. its a 96 prelude SI, i think. it might have been owned by a ricer. it has the 2.3 liter motor a 5 speed. shortthrow shifter , some kind of header and the rest of the exhaust was done over. dont know what companies. it also has the cold air intake. the front tires were bald so i know it has been beat, and there is a check engine light. the body is in very good condition and it has 117k on it. i ran the car and it sounds good no skipping or tapping, the car feels tight, suspension and brakes wise. its got power everything but the moon roof is broken.

anything i should look for that goes bad on these cars?
he wants 3100 for it.
any suggestions. its black on black
anything you need to know i can tell you just ask

If you drove it and everything seems tight and mechanicly sound and the body is clean $3100 sounds like a good deal. I would have him take to get scanned or manually scan it yourselves to see what the code is for the check engine light. It may be something simple. but look into it first before you buy it.
