Test Autometer accuracy?

I was thinking about getting a Autometer Ultralite boost gauge but I read some of them can be innacurate. So how would you know if they were if you were using a manual boost controller?

I have a Autometer Phantom gauge and it seems real acurate. I look at my EBC reading of boost then compare it to the gauge. I think it also depends on where you connect the gauge to and if you do it correctly.

my autometer carbon fiber 30boost/30vac guage needle moved off 0 to 1-2 only after about 3 months of use. the sooner i blow up my stock t25 the sooner i can get a better turbo.

i have that guage and it seams to read perfectly for me wanna buy mine

Yeah but my point is how would you know? If its off by say 2 psi, you have no way of knowing, let alone like 10 psi.

i have an Autometer Sport Comp boost gauge...and it seems to be real accurate with my Hallman MBC...one of the main reasons i got these two are because my stock BCS decided one day it wanted to blow up and not work anymore and i was riding along one day, noticed that my stock BOV seemed to sound a little louder/high pitched/different (dumped into a K&N), then not too long after that i hit fuel cut for the first time in my life...kinda scared the shit outta me, heh...got the boost gauge, hooked it up, found out that my car was somehow pushing over 20psi....took out the stock BCS and it looked fried. had all this white slimy goop in the connectors, so i got the hallman the next day or so and adjusted to about 15 - 15.5 and haven't had any problems since

im pretty sure im running 20psi and turni it down to 16 psi with ease and it reads fine,autometer are the first in guage i trust the quality and th accuracy

But how do you KNOW it's running that psi? How could you test it? Couldn't you "think" you were running 15 psi and really be at 18? I hear people saying their gauge is off by a couple psi but how would they know that unless they had a ebc? The reason I'm asking is cause I'm trying buy a Autometer Ultralite but I've heard some of them are duds. So how would you KNOW if yours was one of the duds or not?

the only bad things ive heard is that after awhile the end up off. you would tell that its off by when you turn off the car it should read ZERO. if it doesnt read ZERO then the guage is wrong. its not that hard to figure out lmfao

Then why couldn't anyone else answer it? So if it's reading incorrect boost it will read zero incorrecly too?

it depends on whats wrong with it. if you peg it too often and the needle shifts then it will zero wrong too. if you install it wrong and the lines/fittings leak then it is your fault but the guage will zero fine. i havent ever heard any bad things about autometer other then what scottsee just said about his.

in the long run it doesnt matter if its dead on or not since you need to tune for no knock not for a specific boost reading,.
