Audi 1.8T vs Panda... and again... and again...

Wow, I've never actually had to 'defend' myself on the freeway.

I was cruising along at 70ish in the slow lane. It's what I do... I cruise. When I notice a red Honda Civic Si roll past in the lane over. He had exhaust and wheels. Ehh, maybe next time I'll dick with him.

My focus still on him, contimplating whether or not to pursue him.. When out of nowhere... well he came from somewhere, but it's more dramatic when you say OUT OF NOWHERE! this Audi slides next to me and gives me a BOV at my door.

The Fuck? Somebody... Challenging me??? Now that's a first. "Oh, the hell no, you just did not give me a BOV to the face!" I said to myself and rolled on the gas in 5th gear. To let him know I'm very game.

He follows me as I make my way over to the fast lanes. He gets on my left and tries to pass me. I drop to 4th and leave him. I put 2 car lenghts easily on him and let off.

Ok, I'm done. I proved my point. You came to me for a race, I gave it to you, and you lost. Go away now.

He BOV's me again. Drop to 4th again and leave him once more, upshift to 5th gear and let off at 110mph.

I start to slow down and pop over into another lane to let him pass. He gets ahead of me... a car is in my lane so I come in behind him and when there's enough room he hits it again, I drop back to 4th gear and mash the gas and I pull from half a car length behind him out and around him then proceed to put on a good bus length and let off at again 110mph.

Pulls up next to me again and gives me oonce more a BOV to the face. BLAH!!! 4th gear, let off at 110mph.

Go away now! I win!

Finally He got the picture... and we exchanged thumbs ups... It didn't sound like a 1.8T, sounded like a six cylinder from the exhaust. he had his emblems shaved, so I'm not sure what it was. I'm assuming it was a 1.8T. It moved pretty good for what it was... but obviously it didn't move fast enough.

Fun times.

Haha. This guy I know knows a guy from work who has a VW GTI with a chip, exhaust, and like..an intake or something and he thinks he slaughters mustangs. He wants to race me for money. But, sounds like a fun race. He was quite persistent it seems.

I don't get why people do that. Keep coming back for more, once you've proved you're faster.

"hmmm maybe this time he'll be slow!!haha ......oh...nope... still fast.... shit."

Could of very well been an A6. Who knows, maybe you took on an RS-6 . Either way, good kill. Atleast he tried. You should be glad someone tried to challenge you for once. L8...

Well, you have to give him an A for effort!

I think sometimes, people "believe" that they screwed up, or somehow you got an unfair jump on them, and try to "prove" to themselves that they really can beat ya, lol.

Notice the quotes around believe and prove?????

lol. I know that. You know that. Most people with any race experience (track or street) knows that. But there is always that one guy who doesn't.

true that, of course we never think like the people so its very hard to put ourselves in their mindset.

And you sure can't explain things like this to people that don't know either. They either just won't listen, or are dead set on what they "think" to be the truth.

Bracket racing is the hardest thing to get people to understand.

i would know, my professor races bracket in pro stock.

you have to call the humidity, and everything to predict what your goin to run. people lose by thousandths of a sec. in his class everyone uses a throttlestop to give them room to play with the throttle if the guy next to him looks like they're goin to break out. or visa versa.

very very tough section in drag racing.
