Re: Will this bolt up???

Even if it will bolt up, you take a tranny that was taking what....200hp, and put it up against (guessing) 385hp beast?.....i don't think it would hold. But don't take my word, I am just guessing here, the only trannys im somewhat familiar with are T400's, 350s, and the 700R4

i might be wrong, but it seems like the third gen v6's had the same trannies as the v8's, but don't take my word for it

Re: Will this bolt up???

Nope won't work. The 4l60e have one piece tranny bellhousing's and the LS1 has completely different bolt pattern.

Re: Will this bolt up???

the 4L60E that was in the sixer is the same tranny that fits in the z28/ss cars. no difference, you can swap em out. an the 4L60E does infact have a removable housing, as i remember it. the 700R4 is the tranny with the fixed bellhousing...

The guts are the same but the housing itself is a one piece bellhousing.

Re: Will this bolt up???

Point out the removable bellhousing to me in this ad or any of the other 200+ 4l60e tranny's for sale on ebay. It could be very possible that a aftermarket company makes a 4l60e with a removable bellhousing but they do not come this way in any camaro.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33727

Edit- I think your thinking about the units used with some Vortec trucks(and that was a extention housing) but these units were never used on any F-body's and are not interchangable with 4l60-e's used in cars.

Re: Will this bolt up???

*this is out of a 94 camaro

*this is out of a 96 camaro.

what i found is that in 96 they redid the 4L60E and gave it a removable bellhousing (one site called it a 4L65E). ie from 93-95 its was one piece case essentially the same as 700R4, but from 96 on there was a removable bellhousing type. i also found versions of the 4L80E as a one piece case, so ill look into it more but thats all i got right now...

The ad I sent you is from a 2001(hence after 96). I have seen tons of 4l60e's and looked threw many ads too and I am telling you that you will not find a 2 piece bellhousing in any f-body unless someone modified there car with a aftermarket one. They just don't have them.

Re: Will this bolt up???

I am 99% positive this is what your thinking about but like it says used on 2 wheel drive trucks and is not a bellhousing but a extention. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
