----want to make a drift truck----

o.k. got a new project i was thinking about its a 1990-91 nissan pickup 5spd and i could get it for probably about 500 dollas. i will drop a sr20det motor in it and i was wondering if theres any coil-over suspension out there that will fitt on to it. i dont want to use air ride or any other type over lowering suspension because coil overs are pretty much the best to improve handiling and give it the mean drop look.

- things i want to do:
1. drop an jdm sr20det engine
2. try to find some coil overs
3. new rims and tires
4. re-locate the e-brake
5. new paint job cause the truck has some faded paint on it
6. gut the interior
7. put roll cage and two racing seats in there

* please give me some input i want to try and get this thing going by the summer*

you would also want to make the truck lighter, take out the bed liner and try to buy or have made as many carbon fiber or fiber glass panels for the rear. the lighter the rear, the easier to drift and control a drift and the more smoke you'll make. also lighten the fron but the back will help more. try and get as much torque as possible out of that engine because i'm not sure how well it will do in a truck, the engine was made for a car so try a turbo upgrade (you jest need the turbocharger since it comes stock with a turbo) and a full exhaust system. another thing that's a must is a limited slip differential, you might be able to get one off a 240 but it might not be wide enough, but an lsd is needed to drift well.

Drift trucks are way cool, and lots of fun. You shouldn't "lose " the weight in the rear as trucks are pretty light in the rear already. Anyone with a little truck on a rainy day can get the rear to come around. I happen to own an S-10 with an s-13 redtop in it. I Love it! Any help you need, i am at your disposal, DRIFT TRUCKS RULE!

im seriously thinking of buying my dads mazda b-series truck and turn it into a drift truck. the only engine mods i'd do would be a supercharger and full exhaust system, then do full suspension upgrade, relocate the e-brake, gut the interior and put in racing seats, roll cage, lighten the rear as mentioned above, and, if i have enough money and am adventurous enough, cut the roof off and make it a roadster (with a vinyl or canvas top if it rains, i still have to drive the thing)
