High reving all the time

Well i havent had to much trouble for my blazer in the year i have owned it but now it is just a bit annoying when I start up and it is sitting at about 2000 rpm, and when i take off it still wants to pass people doing the speed limit? what the heck is happening

how high is it reving when you are driving?

You know what this sounds like, the IAC valve electrical connection needs to be reseated or the valve itself has to be cleaned and reinstalled.

Sounds like a bad temp sensor, if you have a scanner you can view the reading. If the engine is hot and its still reading cold the engine will run at 2,000 RPM. They are only a few bucks if you just want to try and replace it to see if that does the trick.

temp sensor will not increase the idle to 2000rpms though.

Only an IAC or a major vacuum leak will.

As I said earlier remove and clean you IAC valve and the hole it inserts into.

Scrub them both good with TB cleaner and a toothbrush.

Then reset your computer.
