94 Grand Am Service Engine Light When At Idle
My '95 Grand Am Will Most Of The Time Put The Service Engine Light On When The Car Is At A Traffic Light Etc, When I Start To Move The Light Will Go Out, Else I Have To Stop Switch Engine Off And Restart, Light Goes Out, I Have Replaced The Idle Engine Control Valve And Have The Same Issue.
Anyone Got Any Suggestions |

Re: 94 Grand Am Service Engine Light When At Idle
Are there any idle problem besides just the check engine? Such as stumbling?

If the light is coming on it is storing a code. Have you had the codes pulled down to see what it is registering?

Re: 94 Grand Am Service Engine Light When At Idle
I would guess a partially failing alternator. I was getting Service Engine Soon, sometimes ABS light. Finally, the alternator died and stranded me in front of FedEX Forum in Memphis, TN and have it towed. I got the alternator tested and confirmed dead this time and got a new one and it was fixed.
