quick diconnect fuel line woes

In replacing the fuel pump on my 2000 Tahoe (5.7L), I became aquainted with Chevrolets's quick disconnect fuel lines. After mangling one horribly with a screwdriver, I asked a buddy if there was some trick to these. AHHHH!!!, there is!. After removing the second line with the quick disconnect tool, I have been on a quest for the last 2 days on where I can get a metal quick disconnect clip similar to the one I mangled. Chevrolet was gracious enough to offer me a new fuel line between the filter and pump for $79.50 plus tax. I fould nylon quick disconnect clips at the autoparts store, but would feel better if I could get the same metal clip that was there. Has anybody had any experience in this area? Any advice would be appreciated.

The nylon should be fine, but if you don't mind waiting a couple days, Rockauto.com has what you need for $9.27.
