o2 sensor question
The SES light came on the other day so i took the car up to autozone to get it checked out. It said problem in bank 1 and that the o2 sensor was bad. I know there are 2 o2 sensors so which one really needs replaced? I don't want to spend the money and buy two so I need to find the bad one.

Re: o2 sensor question
from what i've read, usually the front o2 sensor goes bad...the one nearest the engine, sitting in the o2 housing. don't buy one from auto zone either...this is the one you want...

Re: o2 sensor question
In our case, everything will be "bank 1." With a v6 or v8, one side will be bank one and the other bank 2. I can't recall if the code says front/rear, but thats the terminolgy we use. If you are not getting a Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (bank 1) DTC, odds are its the front sensor though. I would see if the code gives it away, if not, do the front if you arent also getting the above mentioned DTC.
