Fb Won't Start? Could Use Some Help Please. Thanks.

Hello,

My 1985 GSLSE is having some starting problems. It has been starting fine until about a week ago when I started it up for a friend to hear it outside my house (which it started up fine for) . Later that day I tried to start it and nothing. I tried again later with the same result. Finally after buying a new starter, as I was about to put it in and I tried it once more for the hell of it, and it started fine. I ran a few errands and it started fine at each of the places. The next morning I went to work and as it started. As I was leaving the grounds after work It stalled and when I tried to start it again. Nothing.

Before I go on let me add that I have a push start someone put it in. Two switches: one that controls electrical and one that controls the fuel pump and airconditioner. (God knows why he did that.) and the push button.

Anyway, I got fed up and put the new starter in and held the push button in. Usually as soon as the button is pressed it starts up, but it took a good 2 or 3 seconds before anything happened, but nevertheless it started. I drove it home and replaced a switch that had broken. Afterwards I thought that perhaps the battery was weak from trying to start it so much so I took it on a joyride. (the same 3 second delay happened again) I figured that switching the starter was the problem so I drove to my girlfriends. As I was about to get out of the car I decided to make sure it would start again and nothing happened. I did notice though that 2 relays located in the engine by the EFI were twiching badly. If that is perhaps the reason why it won't start I do not see how you remove them. They look attached strangely.

I ended up having to push it down the heel and kickstart it. I drove it home. I looked at all the fuses and none of them are blown. It still will not start and I am at a loss.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

Preston
