help ! my car will not stay started

when ever i started my car, it cranks right up,but ten minutes later it dies. all my instruments on the dash go out first then the car. i was told i needed a new ECM, but i do not think so. any suggestions?

You probably do need a new ECM, but the only other things I could think of is. Your battery is discharging, or you have clogged fuel lines.
