Body Kit - A Bad Idea?

not talking about the looks...got a 96 camaro, there are about 2 styles of body kits -ebay --...just wondering about the front skirt...the skirt on the bottom of the car brushes on the ground anytime you go up/down even a small incline....would i break the one the comes with the kit in no time? 98+ camaro kits don't really have a front skirt, just two small tapered ones on either side--ebay again--, not in the middle...did they learn a lesson?

Re: Body Kit - A Bad Idea?

the aftermarket kits probably do scrape, but then again i dont have a kit and will scrape if im not careful. the thing about the aftermarket ones is that they disrupt the airflow goin into the chin spoiler and prolly affect how much air goes into the radiator. i would recommend the factory RS front skirt. personally i think it looks better and is open on the front to allow air to flow...

Re: Body Kit - A Bad Idea?

Same with RS, I don't have a body kit and I scrape alot. Even goign slow and being careful. I live in Speed Bump Alley.

If you want it, go for it. But just be mindful.

Re: Body Kit - A Bad Idea?

when you buy the body kit, there is a new air dam lip that you have to buy so the airflow doesnt get disrupted.. i think thats an additional 60 dollars.. really i think the body kits look bad anyway in my opinion..

Re: Body Kit - A Bad Idea?

well as u all can see i do have a kit and my car is lowered and it scraps all the damn time when i go in driveways and leave them. it sounds bad but it dont damage it at all anyway most of the front and back lips are 10-15mph dent guarded any way they have a bit of give (to a limit).

Re: Body Kit - A Bad Idea?

theyre all plastic, atleast the stock ones are, so no too much damage occurs. its a judgement call really...
