'86 Mr2

I just had a garage fire and that took out my two rides and Im down to nothing right now . I saw an '86 MR2 for sale, It has 160,xxx miles, 5sp, exterior is in good condition and for the most part it drives great. This is all for $600. I want a nice handling car and people told me this is one of the best cars to purchase. I know the car wont last so I want to hear what people have to say about it so I can decide if I want to purchase it or not. Thnx for any info. ahead of time

Re: '86 Mr2

The MK1 MR2 is an incredibly fun car to drive and is great on gas. I hav had 5 of them

I would anticipate putting money into your first year though (brakes, suspension ... something).

I would also recommend doing basic maintenance right away (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, air filter, fuel filter and oil change).

GET IT! $600 is a great price for one if it's in decent condition. they are amazing little cars, and like jekyl said: be ready to invest in suspension and tires. because you won't be able to get enough of driving it

Re: '86 Mr2

Ok I called the guy about the car and he said that it was an '85 and not an '86.....Does this by chance change anything about how it handles/performs?

5th gear doesn't stick too well, but it's still a very nice little car

Thats cool....I was asking because first years usually have all the problems on any part of the car.
