Big turbo

Sup guys, i got a greddy t78 turbo sitting in my room and im wonderin how bad the lag will be if installed on my gsx. I got a good deal on it and hey if i dont like it I can always sell it for money to buy another turbo. I will be getting nitrous so maybe lag wont be an issiue , or will it still be laggy? Ofcource i know a lot of work needs to be done before the install im just makin sure this is the turbo i wanna use. Peace

Re: Big turbo

If your goals involved 600whp or more, that is good turbo for your car. If you don't want to make this much power, build a bulletproof engine, etc., sell it and buy something more practical.

It will be laggy, just like any huge turbo. If it is a track car strictly, you'll have to deal with lag to put up big numbers.

Re: Big turbo

On a 2 liter I say good luck. If you runa 2.3/4 its much more feasible. I forget exactly how big that turbo is though, anyone know the lb/min rating and the specs on the hot side?

Re: Big turbo

That turbo is a Drag Turbo. But good luck spooling it. ALthough i have seen Eclipses (in magazines) have that Turbo, i still think they'll have quite a time with it lagging.

That is a really good fucking website for turbo info!!!

Compressor maps for the T76. Close enough to a T78!

Re: Big turbo

My boost gauge doesn't even go that high. I think at that point you would have to move to a bar system. 930 what would that feel like in an awd dsm. could you even pull your self out of the seat to see over the dash?

LMAO... Hey how much do you want for the turbo!

My boost gauge goes up to 40psi although I have never seen anything over 27. Soon it will change!

Re: Big turbo

Shep wraps his 35 psi guage to the pin, check out his videos. I think he now has a 50 psi blower guage. You can get them in 50, 60, and 100 psi. For reference, I'm on a T67, 74 lbs/min, and thats considered pretty damn big for our motors (or even a stroker in my case).
