hey people :)

so yeah...here's the deal

i'm picking up an 87 CRX HF on saturday... it's got 175k miles... the owner doesn't really know any of the history, he's had it for a lil over a year. but the previous owner claimed some engine work was done...anywho... body is straight, and freshly painted, and i'm just wanting to tell you my plans for it

b18c1, since it's an HF i dont have to worry about the vss, the only problem i've found with the b18c1 is their damn price, waaayyyy too high but anyway, reason i posted was to ask if anyone has seen a 1g rex with the b18c1, and if so, any write ups on it? what problems will i have with it? i'm prolly going to get a front clip with the motor in it, so i can nab most of the parts offa the front clip of the GSR..anywho...

Re: hey people :)

Hey! That's basically what I want to do! Although, I was thinking about the b16 vtec head... Something about the better compression... Anyways! Sounds like you'll have an easier time with allready having the VSS. Since you have the HF, you allready have FI, which is easier on the wiring. If no one has told you, Welcome to the Forum! Don't forget to keep us posted on your work, though.

Re: hey people :)

actually, it's not FI, it's carb... which sucks because of the wiring... but it's all in time that it'll get done and i'll get pics up(albiet crappy ones) when i get the car

and sorry about the scatter-brained first post, i was damn tired, had been up too long looking for info on the b18c1 swap but thanks for the welcome, and i look foward to posting here

Re: hey people :)

alright, i have it.. the only problem i've seen with the running aspect of it, is the fact that it idles at 2000 RPM's, i emailed the guy and asked why (i didn't notice this til we were like 100 miles away from his house because it was all highway driving) he just said to adjust the idle control screws (one for high idle, and warm idle) and the muffler makes a nice rattle sometimes at certain RPM's...but that's today project
