22re engine suddenly dies
I have a 22re engine. A while back it would intermitantly not start. Now i will be going down the road and the truck will suddenly die. I've replaced the ignition coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, fuel pump and am still having this problem. Has anyone had this problem? any suggestions would be great!!! thanks...Clay.

Check for a loose connection @ the barrel connectors by the coil on the LF wheelwell in the engine compartment. I cannot stress enough to physicallycheck each one for a proper connection, since they have a habit of looking like they are connected when they actually are loose.
Also, did you replace the Igniter unit as well, or just the coil? I had this go out on my old 85 22R engine a few years ago. Talking to other mechanics at the time I learned that in a no-spark problem, the igniter is at fault about 90% of the time. |

Re: 22re engine suddenly dies
If you have spark and it still won't run, it could be a fuel delivery problem.
