Exclamation I have a question regarding safety

I'm completey uneducated on the topic of automotives and I need to know something.

I own a 1991 Dodge Dynasty. When I start it up, it constantly makes a loud clicking noise. I've been told that this is an engine rod that's going out. I have no job and no way of getting money to fix it. I was wondering that if I continue to drive the car, if there is any risk to my life, I'm not trying to die here. :P

Thanks for the help.

Re: I have a question regarding safety

Well, there is a risk to your life; if that rod's getting ready to go, it could blow your engine and leave you stranded in the middle of the road; worse case scenario, your engine goes while you're in traffic and you're crossing a railroad track and it won't start up; or driving down the freeway and it goes; your stuck. So to be honest, it can risk your life; if you must drive it, don't drive too fast or go too far so that your distance from home is not so far.

I don't feel sorry for you. Just what are you doing driving when you don't have a job? How do you stay alive?

And you don't need to swear at everyone like that, that's uncalled for.

If you don't have anything to say regarding the topic, then shut up. Don't make irrelevant posts.

Boo-Hoo, some car inthusiest over an online bulletin board system doesn't like me, I'm hurt.

Thank you for your response.

Hmmm, so it's not going to explode on me or something, right? :P

Maybe you could get a good job as a politician, and be paid to contradict yourself all day long.

I'll post anything I want.

The car itself won't explode but the motor will and then you'll be SOL. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't drive it; my brother-in-law is in the same situation, had to get him another vehicle so he could get around b/c he threw a rod in his 99 Buick Century; when it starts up, it sounds terrible.

Re: I have a question regarding safety

Just stopped in for a fill up of good chat....
seems the riff-raff has gotten worse. Why do you drive a damn dynasty with rod knock? Get a job, clean up your act, fix your car and be happy.

Oh, and Hi Bleed,
long-time-no-post!

Re: I have a question regarding safety

Hey man. Hope you've been keeping well.

Long-time-no-post for sure. I'm not posting as much as I used to either, people ask the same questions and stuff over and over. Boring. I need to find something else to do with my time, haha.
