Hell yeah, it's one of my top favs also. Mind blowing cinematography, and great acting to boot.

Here is useless ass trivia aboyut the movie
Near beginning of the movie, while Dr. Gonzo and Raoul are driving down the highway, there is an accident involving many cars. There is an ambulance about to put a person that is covered with a white sheet in it. If you look on the white sheet, there is a smiley face in blood on it.

lol ya that movie was terrific, especially on a head of acid or shrooms the first... I vividly remember not being able to continue watching the movie the first time when Benitio Deltorro was in the tub yelling and screaming in his dirty underwear - I was so messed up and was like what the hell, I can't take this anymore! Nevertheless, the movie is classic.

Actually, you guys should really sheck out the original Hunter S. Thompson movie called Where the Buffalo Roam starring Bill Murray as Dr. Thompson and the guy who plays Ray Romano's day on everybody loves Raymond as the attorney. I saw that flick years after watching Fear and loathing and you can really appreciate how amazing an actor Jonny Depp is because he builds on Bill Murray's original performance so well. I'm just waiting for the re-release of Where the Buffalo Roam on DVD thats coming out later this month.

That reminds me - more useless facts!!!!!!!!

Tobey Maguire wears a shirt that has a Ralph Steadman picture on it. Ralph Steadman did the original illustrations for the book and the typeface of the credits is based on his handwriting.

and

When Gonzo stops the car and has an "attack" with Tobey Maguire in the car, Maguire's hair seems different. According to Terry Gilliam's commentary on the Criterion Collection DVD, they shot this scene a few months after the scene where they first picked him up and could not get Tobey Maguire to shave his head for the wig. It would have cost $15,000 extra to put that in his contract initially but they opted not to because the movie was already becoming over budget. They ended up spending well over that using a bald cap and makeup effects, as well as using computer editing to erase the line on his forehead.

I think I know what you're talking about - I noticed that one minute his hair is "normal" and then next minute it looks totally drenched with sweat...

Say, whats the CC DVD all about - is the movie any longer or is it just bonus features?

That is kinda the point, it is supose to be just completely messed up and pointless. That is what makes it funny.

But they were so messed up the whole time they just kept doing what they were doing. The book was great; I haven't seen the movie ... yet.
