Insurance Tip of the Day
Shop around at your 19th, 21st, 23rd, and 25th birthdays. You see a premium reduction at that age. Compare it to your current insurance company, and threaten to cancel them if they don't change your age mid-term to lower your rate. Depending on your tenure (how long you've been with the company) they might make an exception and change it mid-term and give you the better rate on your birthday (instead of your renewal) to keep you as a customer.
It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does, and even if it doesn't, you should see a decrease in your insurance rates anyways due to the new age.

Woot! I didn't know there was one at 23 also! How much of a reduction are we talking? I'll be taking out insurance this year for the first time as a 19 year old but I have 4 points more

say hello to sky high insurance if you get a vr4....get a quote before you buy!
23 isn't a huge decrease, it's pretty small, but it's there.

Lol I thought so but I seem to remember getting one for the hell of it when buying insurance for the SL and it wasn't crazy high. Could it be massachusetts has one good thing about it!?

that's an easy question.
more experience. you have been driving for a few years, and have more experience. 21 year olds have a MUCH less chance of causing an accident than let's say 16 year olds.

Hey Gateway,
I was hoping you could answer a question for me. I was in an accident and didn't tell my insurance company (I didn't have collision, so I sucked up the loss). However, I landed in someone's yard and they made a claim against me. It seems like the insurance company is going to handle it but I wanted to know if it would raise my rates. The person I talked to said that she didn't know if it would. Thanks.

well mods cost more than stock replacement parts, so if they covered mods your insurance would be alot more expensive.
