Ok guys, I need your help. How do I remove the oil pan in a 1994 buick regal? I have removed all the bolts, but the pan does not come out. Do I need to remove something else to make room? I loosened the motor mounts and lifted it a few inches hoping it would be enough to free the pan, no luck there. I am getting frustrated and need my car. Please help.

Re: 1994 regal oil pan removal
Well, this is an old post but hopefully can get an answer this time. I have a 93 Buick Regal with the exact same problem. I have a Haynes manual, no help. All it says is 92 and later models to remove the plug from the oil level switch.
Doesn't mention or show a picture with the one that has the crossmember in the way. The section is there like they put it there on purpose just to be in the way. I tried like the other guy, raised it up a couple inches but still wasn't able to get it out. Please anyone who has already gone through this write back. |

Re: 1994 regal oil pan removal
Ok, I went ahead and got it out, I heard you have to pull the sub frame which is in the way.
Well, if anyone wants to know the dangerous and stupid way instead you can take the mounts loose, use an engine hoist and lift the engine and transmission like I mentioned I did earlier, and then reach your hand inside the opening with an 8 metric wrench on each side and take the oil pick up tube loose, take the bolt out completely on one side, then you can slide it around and get the oil pan out. |
