Talking 1996 Dodge Ram: 12" Lift, 4X4 Conversion, Super Swamper Tires....

Loosley based on the Dodge Ram VTS Pickup...

The front end was completly rebuilt. Parts used were: Completly rebuilt front frame rails using styrene block tubes, and made a custom IFS Crade using the same stuff. It has Nissan Terrano Lower A-Arms, Toyota Hilux Front Differential, Honda Civic SI Driveshafts, (they were actually bigger/longer),Toyota Hilux Spindles, with stock axles and upper control arms. I "lengthened" the spindles by adding bars at the top of them from the left over multi-link Teranno rear end. For the front axles, I cut the snap on wheel axle/hub from the stock parts, and instead of using the poly cup/thingy that you would normally used on an Aoshmia model, I glued the axle/hub in its place instead, so the wheels would still attach like normal. I also used Hilux front shocks. Has stock disk brakes and drums rear, custom stabalizer bar modified from a Rockwell 2.5 Ton axle, with a stabalizer shock, and a power steering unit from an International Paystar dump truck. The tires are Aoshimia Super Swamper Radial TSLs, with Raguna D-Force wheels...

The rear end has "enlarged" stock Hilux shocks (two shocks put together to make 1 long one), an aluminum differential cover, and I flipped around the leaf spring mount points, and lifted them using the block tubing.

Oh yeah, to anyone who read my classified adds, I wont need a new body, I decided to order a new body from Revell. Except it will take 15-20 buisness days to arrive. SHIT!

LESSON LEARNED: NEVER LEAVE MODELS TOO CLOSE TO HEAT LAMPS! (THIS IS THE SECOND MODEL I ACCIDENTLY MELTED)

A Dodge Ram, one of my favorites.

Looks like your roof now has a 'double-bubble' roof, just like the Dodge Viper it's based on

Good luck with your new body. I like the idea, a raised VTS. that's pretty cool

After I Get my new pieces, I'm gonna either do it up blue with white Bumble Bee Stripes, or I might repaint it Hemi Orange with black Bumble Bee Stripes. Although Go Green with Black stripes would look nice too...

Opinions?

Are ya gonna use the V10? I like it, yeah it did look like a roll over, you could dirty it up, and make it look like it had been rolled. That just my 2 cents

More pics:

You can see i melted the door aslo. I tried to heat the roof back up with a lighter so i could straighten it out, but the flame bounced off the roof, and hit the door. I didnt realize it untill it was too late.

Sneak peek at the engine...

NewProcess205 Transfer case, modified Hilux front drive shaft, modified stock drive shaft with Aoshimia U-Joints (for better detail), modified exhaust that barley fits between the tranny support rail, and t-case

HURST shifter, gauges with gauge cover, (paint looks wavy/wet cause I just painted it)
