Tires

I bought a set of Kumo's from the tire rack for my 95 and they have the best ride and are vibration free. I have used several other brands before and was never very happy with the ride. I have high mileage on my car so I didn't want to spend a lot and I got the best surprise from the Kumo's that I ordered from the Tire Rack and they were relativley cheap for 235-60-16 tires.
Good Luck

Re: gonna buy new tires help???!!!!

Funny you should ask about the GY assurance tires. I just put some on a week ago. IMO they feel pretty nice. A nice smoooth ride and they grip really nice. They are brand new so I cant comment on their durability, but Ill give you a litte review compared to my other tires Ive had on this car.

1. Got car with slighty worn GY Eagle GA's. They were average. VERY soft and did not provide very good traction at all. Belts broke in multiple tires.

2. Bought new Michelin MXV4's. VERY hard , but provided good traction and response. These were very good tires. They were a little too hard for my taste , but they performed great on all road conditions. Also looked SPECTACULAR on the Aurora.

3. GY Assurance. I got these because I wasnt about to reup for another $700 for a new set of Michelins. The car is just too old.

But I have been plesantly surprised. These tires feel really nice. Definately softer than the Michelins, but not too soft and gummy like the GA's. Traction is AWESOME right now. You can really feel these tires grip the road. They are smooth as silk too and quite.

I would say pound for pound the Assurance so far is the best tire I have put on this car.

The MXV4's are defiantely more sportier. THey feel sportier and look real nice on the Aurora. They seemed wider than the GY Assurance on the car. They were just a little too hard for my taste. Towards the end of their life they took every bump pretty hard.

Had the MXV4's on my 98 and were size smaller than OEM. Replaced with 4 new Michelin Hydo Edge and they are fantastic! Quiet, smooth, very responsive tires. NO complaints and to boot, great traction in rain and snow! Sam's Club has the best price on them.

Re: gonna buy new tires help???!!!!

for the models before 00' Get 235 60 16 with a
speed rating of 100H. 100 is the load rating.
Got a set of coopers , buy 3 get 1 free. The 235's
look great on the early aurora's . A nice fat tire that fits the well. The newer Aurora's come with a 225 which I dont like.

Re: gonna buy new tires help???!!!!

Yokahama's are a nice tire but they tend to wear
a little faster than most. H rated tires work
for the Aurora but I dont plan on taking it upto
140 any time soon. 100 rated load are best for
this car for weight and handling purposes. RT
