headlights...help!

When you pull your headlight out should it still be in a "frame" that has the star screws connected to it? My screw is stripped out and the lens came off of the same headlight so I was wondering if I bought a new headlight if it would come in a "frame" so I'd also have a new star screw...thanks!

headlight

recently had the problem with the lens popping off as well. as far as taking out the head light, there are two (2) 10mm bolts that you take out, and the whole assembly will slide right out with a little wiggling around, very easy to do. From there you have a quick connect to a wireharness, unhook that and your home free. Now you can access any bulb from "behind" the assembly. Correct me if I'm wrong gentleman (and ladies alike) but I dont belive anything of that nature envolves the "star" shaped skrews.
If your lens popped off, your going to have to get a whole new assembly, yeah that stinks, GM used a shotty adhessive when they made that thing. dealers seel them for around 100 bucks, found mine on ebay for 65. easy to re-instal, just have to take off the old wiring harness and put it on the new assembly. If you have any further questions you can also do a search of this forum for more info.

P.S. yes you would have a new star skrew, and if memory servs correct it shouldnt be plastic on the new one.

They come together if you buy the combination headlight assembly. (~$228) But you'll get alot of stuff you don't need.

I would but just the two pieces you need: headlight assembly (~$73) and headlight housing (~$60)
