Hard to remove the alternator

Hello, guys,

I had problem in my 92 G20 and need to replace the alternator.
The battery doesn't get charging voltage at all.
However I still cannot remove the old alternator maybe
because I missed a bolt. I searched G20 service manual,
Chilton's manual and google, but still didn't find the
information I needed.

My situation now is: I have removed all the bolts visible
and driving belt on the alternator, including the tension
adjust brackets and the pivotal bolts at the joint of
alternator and engine body. Now I can move the alternator
up and down a little bit, however still cannot detach
it from the engine body. Seems there is something locked
it to the linkage joint.

Any clue please let me know ! Thanks a lot.

Sincerely yours,
Xiong Jiang

Did you ever get it off? If not, I can tell you how I did it.

Yes. I did it after remove the upper coolant hose and joint pipe.
It really took me some time because I was hesitating not to remove
the hose and pipe.

What's your experience ? If it doesn't take you much time
I appreciate you describe it.

Thanks,
