Here's the basis......turned on my defrost this weekend, smelled funny (not quite burney, just odd/not pleasant). Turned it off. Pressed rear defrost button and the car immedately accel'd to like 5k rpms, which stopped right when I turned rear defrost off. (highway driving, happened 3 times) I tried the rear defrost again once off highway like 30-35mph and it didn't jump the accelerator like before. Does anyone know what gives here?
-Side notes *Used 4wd for first time in a while the past couple weeks due to heavy snow/ice *Right headlight went out during this weekend, post crazy incident named above. I doubt the side notes mean anything, but thought I'd drop them in in case there's an obvious tie-in that I know nothing about!!! Thanks for the help jeep gods

Re: Vent/Accel/Wiring probs?? 96GCL
I dunno, but I've got a different bit of wierdness. If I have the fan on (A/C or Heat), in the regular position, and accellerate, the fan starts to blow through the defroster vents instead(or at least it sounds like it's coming out of there). it's totally wierd. It goes back to normal when the RPMs go down again.
Anyone got any ideas? |

With the defrost switch being right next to the Overdrive deactivator is it possible you hit the wrong button.. if not, someone that knows what the hell they're talking about (I'm still learning how to maintain mine) will be able to confirm, but is it possible the wires have somehow fused together or a crack on the PCB?
