Lightbulb 3.0L V6 in my 93DX?

ALRIGHT!! We're getting ready to do a 3.5RL conversion on my husband's 98 Accord LX - its the 3.0L V6 Vtec... ...my question is if anyone knows of anybody who has dropped that motor into a 90-93 Accord in place of the F22a

Cost isn't necessarily an issue - and don't just straight up try to say it can't be done - - I'd like some good advice on this one

Also... ...I'm gonna need to find a new tranny - manual - cause we're leaving his automatic in his automatic. I believe the CLs were the only ones made to be manual... ...any thoughts?

thanks

~*~Cass

Re: 3.0L V6 in my 93DX?

my thought is that you should post a pic of yourself up.

well anyways, ive never heard of anyone doing this kind of swap. anything can be done with the right amount of money. you might have to make your own mounts and all that depending on the v6's mount position.

the best thing to do is hav the motor level on a engine hoist and just lower it into position and see where you would need mounts and how to make them, then have a fab shop make them.

then again this is if nobody has ever done it before and your the first one and theres no mounts out there. because i have no idea where hte mounts are on a v6 engine.

I would assume you'd have to do a lot of firewall cutting to shoehorn a v6 into a civic.

it's an Accord meng.

Why not just drop an H22 in there?

Whoops, misread it. Sorry about that.

And yes, I would also opt for an h22 over the v6.

Re: 3.0L V6 in my 93DX?

It was a 5 speed and RWD, in a 5th gen civic. You can actually find the car on Ebay.

Seeing as how you are putting in a V6 from an Accord into another Accord I don't forsee too much hassle. I don't think the engine bay has changed much through the years since it has basically used the same motor. And I don't think they changed it to fit the V6.
