We just bought this 1999 gm in december. One week later it had some starting problems...took it in...they replaced the alternator. worked fine for about a month. 2 weeks ago after a 150 mile road trip with rainy weather. The car would start sound like it was accelerating too much without the foot pushing down on the gas, then shudder and stop any time foot was taken off the gas. Did this for a while and then was fine by the time we took it in to be looked at, they said it was the battery...replaced that. Now we are over the mileage on the pitiful warranty it came with. Again yesterday morning drove it home from work, rainy conditions and when we got back in the car it had the same problem only not for as lengthy a time. For about 30 minutes it would do the shudder accelerate, then stop. Again it's been running just fine since then but we are waiting for the next episode. Husband thinks it might be water collecting somewhere, inside distributor cap? Very puzzling and frustrating...so any ideas or theories are most welcome and appreciated.
Rose.
PS..obviously it was NOT the alternator and NOT the battery!!!
