Angry temperature

i know this quetions has been answered for another member but my temperature gauge sometimes reads overheating and it goes crasy ones in a while, then it runs normal for a while do you think it is also the temperature gauge sensor and if yes where is it located, 2001 camaro SS

im not sure about the ls1's but there is a picture of the temp sensor in another thread recently, u might want to look at that, im sure it cant be moved all that much

does the temp go up when the car is running but not being driven, because i had the same problem. The temp would go up when the car was standing still but as soon as it was running it would go back to normal.

The Temperature sending unit is located in the same place on LT1's & LS1's. Its on the left side(driverside) head. I would just replace it sounds like its faulty.

yes my temperature went up when it was standing, it also went up when i turned the car off for like 20 seconds then i turn it on again the temperature almost goes up to red. then the fans kicked in and the temp was back at normal range

the sensor wiil drip coolant out after you unbolt it, so your going to want to keep a bucket under there but you pretty much just unbolt it and bolt the new one in. Super easy install.
