adjusting headlight

Is there any way to adjust your headlight when the star screw is stripped out? I tried just about everything with no luck.

Re: adjusting headlight

Maybe get a really sharp awl or really narror screwdriver and pound it in there, and then turn in. That might do it.

Re: adjusting headlight

I've got a '98, bought recently. On driver's side headlight both vertical and horizontal adjusters have the Torx heads broken off the adjuster screws. After a lot of penetrating oil into the mechanism, needle-nosed vise grip pliers, cussin and even filing two flats on what's left to get a grip with a small adjustable wrench, I finally figured out that the dolt who busted off the Torx heads bent something in the gear mechanism that moves the long adjuster bolt back and forth. As that driver's side headlight was aimed toward the eyeballs of oncoming drivers, I finally pried the metal bracket that the whole headlight/side marker assembly is bolted to out away from the radiator support and shoved a block of wood between the bracket and rad support. Crude but effective...
