Help on 00 - 02,03

I am new to this board and this is my first post. I have just acquired a 2000 Pasat, in good condition with 28,000 miles on it. I have ran into a couple of problems. None of the dome lights, map lights,or mirror lights work. After reading other forums I know that it's the comfort control system. I thank that the battery in the remote is dead so I can't use it to lock and unlock the doors, but on the inside when I push down the drivers side door lock all the locks in the car lock and the unlock, but when I shut the door and use the key in the lock it locks all of the door just fine, I can't figure this one out??

Now here is my other big question I was wanting to know if the center armrest is interchangable with an armrest from say 02 or 03 passat. I know they have change some aspects of the passat but I'm not sure what is interchangeable on the inside of the car. Thanks for any and all input and information on this matter.

Sounds like your comfort control module might be bad. I have also come across where the power wires for the module are (welded aka saudered) at the factory in the harness get rusted and cause too much resistance so the module wont work properly.

Most of the time its the module and they arent cheap 250-350$

Ad for the arm rest I believe they ARE interchangeable, but I have never tried to swap one. Just ask the parts person at the dealer if the part numbers are the same for a 00 and a 02/03. If the #s are the same they you can interchange them.
