changing the guage of alternator wire

how hard is it to change the size of the wire running from the amp to the alternator??

i am going to get a 160amp alternator

and i read the i will want to uprage to a 4 or 2 guage

i have a 98 grand prix gt

any instructions or how to's would be awesome
