Valve Cover paint?

My car is now roughly 9 years old now and the paint is finally starting to flake away so I was looking to repaint it. I found a site with very in-depth instructionson how to go about it. However, I was wondering if the Engine Enamel (rated for 500 degrees) would hold up or should I just go straight to the High Heat paint which is rated for 1200 degrees but limited in color?

Re: Valve Cover paint?

As long as it's not turbo, 500 is fine. Are you painting your car? Or just the motor?

Thanks for pointing that out, I'm just painting the motor. The Exterior paint seems to have withstood the test of time well. I do also want to do the brakes, but in a different color. What kind of temps are we looking at for those? Sorry, I realized that those instructions aren't as "in-depth" as I originally made them seem. The site was http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=515. Anyways, they still give a good rundown of how to do it and everything you need. BTW, I've heard about putting the valve cover in the oven but the article doesn't mention anything about it. Anyone have any thoughts on if this is necessary?
